As CEO and Board Director of Bahrain Duty Free, he brings extensive leadership experience focused on business planning, operational management, performance, and organizational development.

A Career Built Through Progressive Leadership

Al Wardi’s professional journey reflects a steady progression through increasingly senior leadership responsibilities. His long-standing association with Bahrain Duty Free began in 1998, when he took on the role of Head of HR & Marketing.

This early experience provided a strong foundation in people management, organizational development, and commercial functions. He later served as General Manager of Bahrain International Retail Development Centre from 2005 to 2008, expanding his leadership experience within Bahrain’s retail environment.

Rising Through Bahrain Duty Free

Al Wardi returned to Bahrain Duty Free in a senior leadership capacity as Deputy General Manager in December 2012. He subsequently became General Manager in September 2016, before reaching his current position as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director in January 2021.

His progression reflects more than two decades of professional experience connected to Bahrain’s retail and business landscape, combining operational leadership with strategic planning and organizational management.

As CEO, his responsibilities are supported by expertise in budgeting, negotiation, business planning, operations management, coaching, and performance management.

Experience Across Retail and Investment

Alongside his Bahrain Duty Free career, Al Wardi developed experience in investment and project management. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Project Manager at Baytik Industrial Investments, a subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House Bahrain.

He also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Baytik Industrial Oasis from 2011 to 2012. These roles added project and governance exposure to his broader experience in retail and operations.
